Meet the Pack Behind Good Job, Arya!
Arya Bear
Arya Bear is… well, Arya Bear. She’s got that crazy hair that never lays flat, a 100-mph tail wag that tells you exactly how happy she is to see you, and her signature pink bow that people in Alaska (and even beyond) recognize instantly. She’s a certified therapy dog and a crisis response canine, but more than that — she’s a dog who shows up.
She’s been in hospital rooms, schools, and communities when they needed her most. She’s sat quietly with people having the hardest days of their lives, and she’s greeted kids with that wild hair and pink bow like they’ve been best friends forever. Those moments are why we wrote Good Job, Arya! — so families could have a piece of that joy, comfort, and connection at home.
Miranda Miller
Miranda Miller is an Indigenous Alaskan (Yup’ik) from rural Alaska, a children’s book author, and the human behind Arya Bear’s real-life adventures. She’s been spotted juggling toddler life, working dogs, and small business chaos — usually all before noon. Her stories pull straight from lived moments with Arya, mixing heart, humor, and the kind of details you can only get when you’ve actually been there.
Her debut, Good Job, Arya!, brings together her love for storytelling, her Alaskan roots, and the joy of sharing a true working dog’s journey with families everywhere.
P.J.
PJ has spent his whole life watching Arya work — seeing how she helps people, makes them smile, and brings comfort wherever she goes. Now he’s helping tell her story. With three puppies of his own and big dreams of becoming both a therapy dog handler and a fire chief, PJ knows exactly what makes a great dog story.
He can recite Good Job, Arya! from start to finish, even though he’s not able to read books yet — proving he’s a true author at heart. Every tail wag, every flying bow, every belly laugh in this book has a little bit of PJ in it. This isn’t just Arya’s book — it’s his too.
